Lighting Controlled Mirrors

Smart bathrooms are excellent for making your daily routine easier and customisable and another great smart feature to add is an LED mirror. Some smart mirrors include de-mister settings to remove steam from the glass. There is a great variety of these on the market with different shapes to choose from. The LED lights can be customisable, they’re great in bathrooms with low lighting or windowless bathrooms for even visibility every-time. So you can enjoy your entire bathing routine with ease.

Eco-friendly

In 2025 we will see a continuous shift towards eco-friendly products and showers like the Mira Platinum or Mira Mode. Which allow you to track and monitor your water usage. Electric showers with a lower kW will be great for energy saving and most electric showers like the Sport or Vie include eco-mode for a more eco-friendly shower.

Eco-Maximalism

On the topic of eco-friendly bathrooms a new trend popping up in 2025 is ‘eco-maximalism’ the birth child of maximalist design with an added touch of conscience and resourceful buying. This could mean a bathroom space that is bold and bright but full of organic and sustainable materials. Everything from paint to materials.

To achieve your dream eco-maximalist bathroom start by looking at what you have and what can be re-purposed. Then pick bold and bright patterns and colours like colourful accent walls paired with geometric or patterned wallpaper. Shop local and add small touches like hand-made products; soaps, candles, a knitted bath matt, thrifted picture frames, lampshades. The key with this trend is go big while staying resourceful.

Japandi

A term coined back in 1860 that combines Japanese and Scandinavian design. While bold and colourful bathrooms are always popular we have seen a shift over the last few years towards earthy neutrals and natural materials.

Think serene forest spa, with muted earthy tones like creams, taupes, browns that bring an added softness to the space. The application of the paint can also bring in interest like using the lime-wash effect. A Japandi bathroom must is to add natural materials like stone and wood. To also bring in those firey warm tones we recommend going for warmer metals in your fixtures like coppers, brushed nickel and brass that beautifully complement the rest of the natural effects in the space removing the stark contrast you might get with chrome or black.

Soft textural lighting, also helps achieve a calming effect that you want from a Japandi bathroom. While plants definitely play a big part in bringing earthy elements to your space. Use plants sparingly, too much greenery can offset the neutral tones you’re going for, instead opt for succulents, darker leaves or one large piece like a ficus. Heathers are another great option.

Electric showers

More families are leaning towards electric showers. Electric showers uses cold water and only heats the amount of water you need, during your shower. They are convenient, instant and cost effective. You can read more about the benefits of Electric showers here.

Attention to detail

A bit like our maximalist bathroom, there is a clear and intentional focus on all the details. Now you don’t have to go maximalist to achieve this but it is more about being intentional with your choices and accounting for each area down to the taps, radiators, shelving even light switches. etc.

Traditional

An unexpected revival and demand for traditional style bathrooms is back. While we love to see modern bathrooms with clean lines and state of the art fixtures. It is refreshing to see the want for ornate and timeless designs to be reintroduced to the market. Our beautiful Mira Realm shower has all the exquisite features you need to achieve a traditional bathroom and pairs beautifully with the Virtue taps range as shown below.

Careful Planning

Bathrooms can be a challenging space when it comes to striking a balance between tranquility and usability. Often larger open plan spaces can be hard to fill and smaller spaces can get easily overcrowded. Now, people are putting more thought into allocating designated areas using partitions, glass shower walls and enclosed cabinetry. Making these fixtures hidden, creates clean clutter-free rooms but each space in the room functional and put to use.
